Gold Medal winner at the 2026 SF Chronicle Wine Competition!
Planted in 2008, Escolle is located in the Northern part of the AVA on a hillside overlooking the Salinas Valley. The vineyard features a cool climate due to the breeze and fog from nearby Monterey Bay that make it an excellent place to grow Pinot Noir. This wine was fermented in 1.5 ton lots with daily punch-downs by hand, aged in French oak barrels (20% new), then bottled without fining or filtration. It is a Pinot Noir that is generous with fruit and flavors of strawberries. The wine finishes with a hint of oak and will pair well with grilled pork or filet mignon.
